March Hare

This is a traditionally painted Hare that combines copper foiling and lead work to create a beautiful window ornament and light catcher.
Having cut each of the glass elements the hare was painted and underwent 3 firings to complete. Once all painting and cutting was completed copper foiling and leading began before finally cementing and polishing up the leads to give the distinctive black lines.
Two copper hoops are incorporated in to the outer leads to allow ease of hanging in a window.
Dimensions of the roundel are approx. 20cm x 20cm x 1cm.
